S.H.O.P. Mission Statement:

To serve our community with resources and actions by utilizing our voices and deeds through the unity of giving at Robeson Community College.

Club Description:

SHOP is a student-driven group that meets every six weeks in Building 13, the Student Center. The Staff Advisor will provide the exact location. The club aims to perform two or more community service projects per semester to support and encourage involvement from the RCC Campus. SHOP embraces the diversity of our community and the many opportunities to serve. It is an awesome time for students to connect, pay it forward, and build skills that will look great on their resumes.

Fall Semester:

  • SHOP sponsors a Mental Health Day in October and invites Community Non-profit Agencies to participate. Local Professionals give Free Mental Health Screenings. Food trucks are on campus and there are drawings and prize giveaways.
  • SHOP may choose a food drive, coat drive, angel tree project, or toy drive as a closing semester activity. This could assist one of the many local non-profits during the Holiday season. We have even collected Food for RCC’s Campus Food Pantry.

Spring Semester:                   Shop club heart icon

  • SHOP students volunteer at Counseling and Career Services Notes of Kindness Event in February delivering sweet notes to faculty and staff.
  • Other Opportunities: Volunteer at the Robeson County Church and Community Center Home Store, collect toiletry items to donate to the Homeless or Southeastern Family Violence Center (SFVC), Volunteer at RCC’s Career Fair, Visit a Retirement Center, or volunteer at other community events.
