Santa Claus is coming to RCC Nov. 20
As his reindeer train in the North Pole, Santa is going to make his way to North Carolina via the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office, who will transport Santa in their helicopter patrol unit on November 20.
Santa is expected to land at 11:00 a.m. on the center lawn of the main campus in Lumberton. He will then go to the Workforce Development Center (Building 18) for a special tree lighting ceremony before moving to the Truist Room where he will greet children.
“Santa’s Elves called us and wanted to know if Santa could stop by and tour our campus, and also be a place where he could greet children from the area,” stated RCC President Melissa Singler. “And, of course, we said, yes!”
As the RCC administration and the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office works with Santa’s staff from the North Pole to plan out all the details for his visit, his Chief Elf sent word that he will be here on official business.
“We were asked to relay a message from Santa, he wants kids of all ages to know that he is coming to town and that he’s excited about touring Robeson Community College and can’t wait to meet everyone in Robeson County,” stated Singler.
As the magic of Christmas fills the air at Robeson Community College with the awe of seeing Santa, there will also be caroling from the Lumbee Ambassadors and more.
“You don’t want to miss this downhome Robeson County Christmas Spectacular at Robeson Community College,” stated Singler. “It’s going to be a special occasion and it’s going to be historic – Santa has never stopped by to visit us in a helicopter before!”
The college invites parents and their children, community members, faculty, staff, and students to take part in this kickoff celebration to the holiday season.
Santa will depart Robeson Community College to prepare for his next event – the Lumberton Christmas parade which will be held on Saturday, November 23 in downtown before departing back to the North Pole to get ready for his biggest day of the year, Christmas Eve.
