Rental Assistance Available for Lumbee Students

The Lumbee Tribe of NC is reaching out to assist Lumbee Students at Robeson Community College. The Lumbee Tribe’s Rental Pandemic Relief Program (RPRP) will assist rental households with financial assistance for unpaid rent or utility bills due to the impact of COVID-19. 

In the upcoming weeks, the RPRP team will conduct a virtual educational college night, in which Lumbee college students within and out of the Lumbee Tribal Territory will be invited to join in to listen and learn about RPRP, its eligibility requirements, etc.

To be eligible for RPRP, a household must be obligated to pay rent on a residential dwelling. Other eligibility requirements include, one or more individuals qualifies for unemployment or has experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19; Demonstrates a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability; and has a household income at or below 80 percent of the area median. RPRP is available to all Lumbee Tribal Members residing within Lumbee Tribal Territory and the United States Territories and District of Columbia.
