RCC’s Radiography students get “sendoff” before graduation

Radiography students at Robeson Community College received a proper “sendoff” celebration before graduation by way of a pinning ceremony held Friday at the campus.

“To the graduates, congratulations on your accomplishments, I wish you all the best of luck,” stated Candice Ward, the program director. “This is an exciting time… a few of these students have already been employed as student technologists for almost a year and some of them will move on to full-time positions, and several have decided to continue their education in the radiology classes in seeking MRI and radiation therapy and mammography.”

The students below are set to graduate on May 10 with an associate of applied science in radiography.

  • Alyssa Cierpiot
  • Jamie Deese
  • Caroline Hester
  • Nichole Ivey
  • Ashalei Monroe
  • Caitlin Nance
  • Kimberly Strickland
  • Lauren Taylor
  • Kylie Waltman

Nichole Ivey was presented with the Academic Achievement award. Kimberly Strickland was the chosen recipient for the clinical achievement award. RCC Alum Adriana Bullard was selected as the Radiologic Technologist of the Year Award. Scotland Healthcare System was given an award for being the Clinical Site of the Year.

“We would like to express our gratitude to our families and friends for their support throughout this journey,” a note from the RCC Radiography Class of 2023 read. “Thank you also to our clinical instructors and staff technologists for their willingness to share their knowledge in support of our success.”
