RCC to host last “I’m Next” Fest, July 18 – Free Pizza, T-shirts, Registration and more!
Robeson Community College will host its finale of “I’m Next” Fest on Thursday, July 18 from 4pm – 7pm. Registrants are encouraged to attend this event to prepare for the upcoming Fall 2024 semester which begins on August 15.
As with the other two “I’m Next” Fests, this event will feature prizes, games, and giveaways, and a chance to win a laptop computer. Pizza will be served at 5pm and the college will be giving away free “I’m Next” t-shirts to those who attend.
“I’m Next” Fest was initiated as a way to get more students engaged and back on campus to apply, register, and complete financial aid documents to determine eligibility for the $3000 NextNC Scholarship. To qualify for the scholarships, students must be eligible for in-state tuition as well as have a combined household income of $80,000 or less.
“More than 80% of Robeson County will qualify for this scholarship,” stated RCC President Melissa Singler. “Depending on your program of study and the number of credit hours enrolled, this scholarship may allow students to attend Robeson Community at no cost.”
The average costs to attend Robeson Community College is $1750, which includes tuition for 12 credit hours, books, uniforms and supplies.
“We want to celebrate your decision to attend Robeson Community College,” stated Dr. Johnny Smith, the vice president of instruction and student services. “Come out on Thursday and let us hear you say, “I AM Next!” as you get started on your degree and a create a new chapter in your life.”
Representatives from the Student Services Division – Admissions, Financial Aid, Advising and Counseling, and Records – will be on hand to answer questions about completing the RCC application, filing the FAFSA, registering for classes and more.
“This is going to be a great time to come out and connect with our faculty, staff and other students at Robeson Community College,” Singler said. “We invite everyone in our community to attend… Robeson Community College is a great place to earn your degree.”
