RCC to host first ‘Homecoming Week’ October 3 – October 7
Robeson Community College will be hosting its first Homecoming Week from October 3 – October 7.
The theme of this year’s RCC’s Homecoming will be Home. Sweet. Home.
Monday, October 3rd – Make Yourself at HOME / Wear Blue & Green
Kickoff Event: The Fun Zone
As part of the kickoff celebrations, RCC asks that students ‘Make Yourself at Home’ on Monday, October 3 and get in “The Fun Zone” – inflatables and other fun activities that the entire family can enjoy from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Kickoff Registration
Monday, October 3 is also day to register for upcoming 8-week classes that begin on October 13. ‘Kickoff registration’ will run from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. in Building 13. Prospective students can complete the RCC application, complete financial aid, and register for classes all in one day. Course offerings include American History I, Basic Law Enforcement Training, Basic PC Literacy, Developmental Psychology, Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism, and more.

Tuesday, October 4 – HOME of the Brave – Wear Red/White/Blue
Tug-of-war Competition
On Tuesday, October 4 RCC will become the ‘Home of the Brave,’ as military, first responders, and law enforcement officers descend upon campus. A tug-of-war competition is planned for the day between “Boots & Scrubs vs. Badges.” Everyone is encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to show their patriotism.
Military Recruiters
Military recruiters will be on campus for those who want to learn more about opportunities available in the various branches of the military.
Military / Emergency Vehicles
Several emergency vehicles from various local agencies – including EMS/Fire Departments and Military Installations will be on campus. Come check out the amazing fleet that will be on campus, get some photos and and be sure to thank the representatives for their service.
Sheriff’s Department Command Center
You’ll also want to check out the Robeson County Sheriff’s Department Command Center as tours will be available.
Farmer’s Kitchen Catering / Food Truck will be on campus to help celebrate the day.
Wednesday, October 5 – Home Sweet HOME – Wear Red
Everyone is asked to wear red on Wednesday, October 5 to show your love for Robeson Community College as culinary and cosmetology students show some Southern hospitality to fellow students and visitors, as we celebrate ‘Home is where the heart is.”
Culinary Treats
Culinary students will serve fall spiced treats starting at 11:00 a.m., while supplies last.
Services from Cosmetology
Look and feel your best with services from the RCC Salon! Cosmetology students will offer free hand and arm massages, along with paraffin waxes from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Paint Party
A paint party for students is planned for later in the afternoon by Counseling and Career Services through a partnership with VEEP.
Farmer’s Kitchen Catering / Food Truck will be on campus to help celebrate the day.
Thursday, October 6 – Welcome HOME Alumni – Wear Golf Apparel
Golf Tournament
It’s tee off time on Thursday, October 6 as the college hosts its signature homecoming event – The 38th Anniversary Memorial Clifford Bullard Golf Tournament held at Pinecrest Country Club in Lumberton to “Welcome Home Alumni!”
On campus and in the community, everyone is asked to wear golf apparel to show their support for the golf tournament. For anyone that would like to become a sponsor or are interested in playing in the tournament, you are asked to please contact Carol Cummings at (910) 272-3236.
Chair Massages & Hair Cuts
Also on Thursday, October 6, students and visitors will have a chance to get a free chair massage by massage therapy students and enjoy a free hair cut by barber students.
Friday, October 7 – HOMEmade in Robeson Day – Dress for Success
National Manufacturing Day Celebration
Finally, on Friday, October 7, you’ll want to dress for success as Robeson Community College celebrates National Manufacturing Day with “Homemade in Robeson Day.” Everyone is invited to the main campus to tour and learn about the various industrial programs offered at RCC from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Job Fair
The college will also a host a job fair immediately following Made in Robeson from 12pm – 2pm.
