RCC Foundation names three student ambassadors
The RCC Foundation has named three student ambassadors – Koba Bryant, Mark Bullock, and Kasiyah Lewis – to serve with distinction as they represent Robeson Community College.
“When I first came to RCC, I was approached by the foundation about helping students and I have just been doing that ever since,” stated Koba Bryant who was SGA President from 2023 to 2024. “I do like helping the foundation and I like engaging with students, so that’s one of the main reasons I joined as an ambassador.”
Bryant, a navy veteran, is slated to graduate this May with a university transfer degree with plans on transferring to East Carolina University and majoring in distribution logistics.
Many, like Kasiyah Lewis, choose to come to RCC because it’s close to home. Lewis, who is enrolled in the pre-health radiography program and considers it an honor to be named an ambassador.
“I wanted to get more involved in school,” Lewis stated. “My classes are online, so I only come out here every once in a while, so I feel like doing this will help me be more involved.”
That was also the case for Mark Bullock, who wanted to continue to get more engaged on campus. Bullock is also veteran, and currently assists with the Military Affiliated Resource Center.
“I was approached by the Foundation Office because I work with them right next door as a work study for the MARC center,” Bullock said, who is majoring in electrical systems. “It was a good fit.”
Bullock says he would also love to start a club for student veterans, and hope that is something he can work on as an ambassador.
“We have like 75 military affiliated students,” Bullock said. “I think it would be good for the college.”
As ambassadors, Bryant, Lewis, and Bullock will help the RCC Foundation during fundraisers and will receive a $500 scholarship.
