Nursing student Elisa Rodriguez wins 2024 Photo Contest

Nursing student Elisa Rodriguez was recently named the winner of the 2024 Photo Contest held at Robeson Community College.

Rodriguez is presently in the nursing program and plans to graduate by July 2025. When asked how her experience has been so far, she replied, “It’s been a good experience and rewarding.” Elisa Rodriquez has been married for 16 years and has 3 children. She chooses not to work in order to focus her attention on her studies.

When asked what inspired her to pursue nursing, she said, “I like helping people. I’ve always liked the medical field. I’ve always been drawn to it.” 

After graduation, she plans to remain within our community and would love to work for Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg.

This year’s theme for the picture contest was “Capturing What Spring Looks Like Within Your County”.

Rodriquez states, “My photo was taken at the start of spring when the flowers started blossoming in my yard. This shed is in my backyard and has been there since the early seventies within Robeson County”.

 The Cultural Events Committee would like to congratulate Elisa Rodriquez and thank all students who entered the contest.
