Investments by Piedmont Natural Gas & Matrix Service totals over $100,000
Today, Piedmont Natural Gas presented a check for $100,000 and Matrix Service gave $10,000 to Robeson Community College and the Robeson Community College Foundation as an investment into student scholarships and program expansion.
The Piedmont Natural Gas $100,000 investment will be used to fund scholarships in Industrial Technology, Welding, and HVAC.
“It’s important to us to be a good neighbor in the communities where we do business and where our employees live,” said Amy Presson, Piedmont Natural Gas general manager, major projects. “Funding these scholarships enables local students to learn valuable skills to work on projects like our natural gas storage facility and go on to have lucrative careers in construction or industrial operations.”
In addition to Piedmont Natural Gas’ investment, Matrix System pledged an investment of $10,000 and welding equipment to benefit the welding students and the expansion of the welding program.
The Piedmont Natural Gas Industrial Technologies Scholarship and the Matrix Service Scholarship will impact more than 20 students a semester. This partnership will strengthen Robeson Community College’s industry relationships and enhance the scholastic endeavors of Industrial Technologies Students.
