Give Blood February 1, Get $20
Just one pint of blood can save up to three lives, and in the time, it takes you to read this article, 8 people in the United States will have needed a blood transfusion and or platelets, and that someone could be you or someone you love, as approximately 29,000 units of red blood cells are needed every day in the U.S.
Demand for blood continues to rise across North Carolina, and the supply of blood continues to decrease due to the pandemic. Blood supply levels remain at a critical stage in Robeson County and donors are greatly needed to ensure an adequate reserve of blood is available.
In response to the current situation, Robeson Community College will be hosting a blood drive in partnership with The Blood Connection on Tuesday, February 1 from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot located by the auditorium / building 15. Just look for The Blood Connections Mobile Unit.
All donors will receive a $20 e-gift card and donations.
Donors must be 17 years of age or older, weigh at least 110, and should feel well and healthy on the day of their donation. Appointments can be schedule at this link: https://tinyurl.com/4psym6hv.
