Accessibility Services

Robeson Community College is committed to providing education for all academically qualified students regardless of disabling conditions. The College seeks to enroll students who can complete college-level courses with the help of support services and classroom accommodations. A formal program for students with learning or physical disabilities is not offered; all students attend the same classes. Federal law prohibits RCC from requesting information regarding disabling conditions on the admissions application; therefore, it is the responsibility of the student to contact Student Services and make his/her disability known and to request academic adjustments and/or auxiliary aids. Support services may include, but are not limited to, the following auxiliary aids, services, and academic adjustments:

 

  • Test administration modification
  • Talking calculators
  • Individual counseling
  • Tutors
  • Classroom modification
  • Note takers
  • Calculators or keyboards with large buttons
  • Reaching device for library use
  • Taped Texts
  • Interpreters
  • Assistance with completing forms
  • Readers
