RCC Profile

Robeson Community College is located in Lumberton, North Carolina and is a member of the North Carolina Community College System.  The main campus rests alongside Interstate 95 in southeastern North Carolina.  Robeson County is the largest county in the State with 946 square miles and has a multicultural population of 129,559. 

The College ranks 23rd in size among the 58 community colleges in the North Carolina Community College System.  The college had a full-time equivalent student enrollment of 3,854 for 2010-11.  The college serves about 2,800 curriculum/credit students and 1, 250 college and career readiness students each semester.  Another 15-18,000 adults are served annually in continuing education and workforce development programs. 

The college currently is managing more than $20 million in grants and sponsored programs and is the lead institution in a ten-member North Carolina Advanced Manufacturing Alliance that received an $18.8 million USDOL TAACCCT Grant.  There is an Early College High School located on the main campus that was just named a 2012 National Blue Ribbon High School.

The college has off-campus location in the Carolina Commerce and Technology Park (COMtech.) located in Pembroke, NC and offers college and career readiness classes at more than 20 locations across Robeson County.  RCC employs about 195 full-time employees and about 400 part-time employees.  Of the 195 full-time employees, approximately  98 are classified as faculty and the remainder are classified as staff.  There are four vice-presidents that report directly to the President as does the RCC Foundation Director and the incumbent’s staff.

RCC offers more than 40 curriculum/credit programs of study that lead to the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science degrees as well as diplomas and certificates.  The college has a comprehensive continuing education/workforce development division that provides a variety of instruction and services to the citizens of the greater Robeson County area.
