About Associate in General Education
If your major is Associate in General Education (A10300), you were probably guided in this direction by a counselor in the Admissions or Counseling Services offices. While a few students actually self-select into the Associate in General Education, the majority of students study under this classification while they are preparing for another major—often an allied health program or the cosmetology diploma program. If you are not certain about how to plan your curriculum, you should first consult the Student Success Plan that you received when you completed your placement testing and/or were accepted by the Admissions Office.
Any student whose long-term goal is to graduate with the Associate in General Education must outline a detailed program of study proposal and have it approved by a counselor at least 10 (ten) working days prior to the start of classes. The individualized program of study will become a part of your student record for reference by your advisor and authorized RCC employees.
