Associate in Arts (A10100)
Coursework within the Associate in Arts degree is designed to strengthen students’ background in the humanities and fine arts area. Students who earn an AA degree plan to transfer to a four-year institution and pursue a baccalaureate degree in areas such as education, sociology, history, political science, and music, for example. The AA degree is best suited for students whose educational goals include the attainment of a bachelor of arts degree. Students earning an Associate in Arts degree from RCC have transferred to four-year institutions such as
- NC State University
- UNC Pembroke
- Fayetteville State University
While at RCC, students complete courses in the following areas.
- English composition
- humanities/fine arts
- social/behavioral sciences
- natural sciences/mathematics
- general education, elective, and/or pre-major courses
Courses transfer to the four-year institution as a block as long as students have earned a C on each course and have earned the AA degree.
