Counseling Services Available
Professional and/or Licensed Counselors with extensive training are available to assist students with his/her problems or concerns. Attending college can be stressful for students along with managing employment, families and other responsibilities. Students may experience problems or concerns that are personal, academic or social in nature and/or have difficulty with drugs and alcohol abuse. These types of issues can interfere with a student’s academic success. Our staff is here to provide assistance in a caring, objective and nonjudgmental manner.
Why Seek Counseling?
Many smart and motivated students seek out our services. Everyone has problems and experiences difficult periods. Many students may not always feel comfortable discussing personal problems or concerns with their usual support systems such as friends and family members. Counselors are available to provide that support and assistance in a caring, nonjudgmental environment that will allow students to reach their goals. Students may seek counseling for a variety of reasons. Typical concerns of students who seek counseling:

Is Counseling kept Confidential?
Counseling sessions and student information are kept confidential and released only with the student’s permission. The counselor will inform you of any general limitations to confidentiality.
How Do I Contact a Counselor?
Students are encouraged to come by our office for assistance. There is no cost for services. Students may call or make an appointment with a counselor, walk in or contact our office at (910) 272-3353. Our office is located in the Fred G. Williams Jr. Student Center in Building 13, Room 1302.
